We started their day with the "Our Planet" assembly presentation and after each class took part in the litter workshops. Each workshop has a show and tell story of plastic pollution with plastic waste from our beaches and coastline here in the UK been shown. The children also see littered waste from inland community areas where the children can see a fundamental difference in each piece of litter. Most of the litter shown in the show and tell has remained in the environment for decades this highlighting the materials durability teaching the pupils about sustainably materials through looking at evidence from beach and inland litter picks.

I am blessed once again to attend Bengeworth Academy in Evesham to support their Eco activity week. This was my forth year visiting the academy and each time all pupils get involved over the weeks visit. It is a very busy time as each year group has 90 pupils and need 15 workshops to allow every pupil in be involved. I must say that I receive a warm welcome every year from the pupils and I'm always blown away how they remember the course and engage with 100% enthusiasm. The Wychavon team believe that the program instills in individuals a passion to look after their local community environment and always dispose of their litter in a bin. When I first visited these community areas we were collecting dozens of bags of litter from community areas and on this visit it was great to witness less litter. This showing that the work delivered and messages instilled means that these pupils have taken their teaching home and really are looking atter their community areas and school.

I had a great visit to St Wulstan's primary school in Stourport on Severn in July, The school were studying plastic pollution and learning through creation how stewards play a role in our everyday life and how we should all look after our world. I delivered the assembly to the whole school and then each class went out in to the community to litter pick. The pupils were a fantastic credit to their school and cleared up over 10 bags of litter from the school community areas. School facebook post wrote: Reception, KS1, Year 3 and Year 4 took part in litter picking with Mrs Blanchfield and her ‘Little Litter Warriors’ project. As a school, we have been taking part in a number of Eco Challenges with the Wyre Forest School Sport Partnership to promote wellbeing, healthy living and looking after our planet. We were so impressed the the children’s enthusiasm and effort to clean the streets around our school. In total, we collected 5 bags of litter with some of the litter dating back to the 90s and early 00s. Pinvin CofE First school return each year to the program to instill the message to their pupils looking after the environment is important. They invite me each year to deliver the recycling workshop that not only teaches the children about using the correct bin for their rubbish but also teaches the little ones how to use the litter picker. This fun engaging game see them clear up all t he recycling on their playground and then we go on a litter hunt around the school premises where this year the pupils cleaned up two bags of litter. The reception class spent 90 minutes on this activity and shown incredible determination to hunt out as many pieces of litter they could find. Reception newsletter on the website read: Reception litter pick Reception had a great time being 'Wychavon Little Litter Warriors' with Karen Blanchfield. This is a free local initiative to get all children involved with looking after the environment and understanding the importance of putting their litter in the bin. They played a sorting game first after the 'Litter Fairy' had thrown litter all over our playground and then were very busy litter picking the school grounds! May 24, I had the pleasure of joining the 3rd Droitwich Cubs Pack for a litter pick in their scouts huts community in Droitwich. It was truly inspiring to see the determination and enthusiasm of the cubs as they filled their bags in just 10 minutes. Working together throughout the hour, we were able to make a significant impact on the cleanliness of the area. The children's commitment to this activity was admirable, and I thoroughly enjoyed our time together. A big thank you to the leaders and cubs for their hard work and for making the litter pick so enjoyable. Last week, St Andrews CofE School in #evesham #hampton joined the anti-litter campaign with Little litter warriors. A total of 12 litter workshops were conducted, involving over 300 pupils, resulting in the collection of 22 bags of litter. This amounted to more than 4500 pieces of litter removed from the school and community areas. The children received recognition and gratitude from the community, including a shout-out on social media platforms. The engagement and passion displayed by the children towards preserving the wildlife in the community spaces was truly commendable. The success of this initiative demonstrates the positive impact of educating and involving young minds in keeping their environment clean. Their oldest find was a milk bottle dating 1960's with many pieces of litter dating back decades. Huge well done St Andrew's you really did fly the Keep Britain Tidy flag. The program is 100% funded by Wychavon council as part of their #antilittercampaign. The program is a long term strategy to secure an education to our youth in the communities of #droitwichspa #evesham & #perhore in a hope to create adults who care environmentally and make their individual decisions around waste count.
